In response to many patron requests, the Cinema Series continues at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center with screenings of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on Sat., June 20, and Tues., June 23, at 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday night screening will be shown with captions visible on the screen.

Almost 20 years after making their iconic turns as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel – Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation.

Time Out calls the film “one of those nice surprises, a so-called legacy sequel made with love and executed with flair.” The New York Times calls it “a sleek diversion with brittle and sharp laughs, truckloads of couture threads and lashings of light drama.” The Sydney Morning Herald calls it “an artful blending of the new and the old, the serious and the silly, and even more sumptuous than the original.” Rated PG-13 for strong language, some suggestive references, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” runs one hour, 59 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member. The Opera House Cinema Series is generously sponsored by Lake Shore Bank.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is a member-supported not-for-profit performing arts center with a mission to “present the performing arts for the benefit of our community and region … providing access to artistic diversity … and high-quality programming at an affordable price.” It is located in Village Hall in downtown Fredonia.
