Group Attractions in Chautauqua County NY

Where Comedy, Culture, and Natural Beauty Meet

The Chautauqua-Lake Erie region of western New York benefits from being the home of some notable figures including the First Lady of Comedy Lucille Ball, Supreme Court Justice Robert H Jackson, and father of the modern field guide Roger Tory Peterson. All these figures have museums dedicated to their lives and careers making for three unique and must-see attractions while your group is visiting us.

But that’s not all!

Laughs to Lighthouses

The National Comedy Center is an immersive and interactive experience with over 50 exhibits across 37,000 square feet where visitors will learn about the history of comedy in all its forms and the comedians who helped shape it. Named one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine, groups will learn about the universal language of comedy.

The Chautauqua Institution is a world renown cultural destination and has a great historic tour for bus groups during their shoulder seasons. The Institution also features an exciting 9-week summer programming season that includes art, education, recreation, and entertainment throughout.

Lake Erie Wine Country Wine Trail has many wineries that offer indoor and outdoor event space, tastings, and tours that are group-friendly. Make sure to stop at the Grape Discovery Center along the trail where you’ll be able to shop local artisan products and tour a small museum depicting what makes the area the worlds’ most important concord grape growing region. We also have prominent craft breweries that originate here including Southern Tier Brewing Company.

If your group is looking for something outdoors, they will find many options including Panama Rocks which is one of Trip Advisor’s top attractions in the area. The Chautauqua Belle Steamboat on Chautauqua Lake is where your group can take a cruise on one of the country’s few remaining operating steamships. The Dunkirk Lighthouse and Veterans Museum is home to the 61-foot tower with its original third-order Fresnel lens. The Lighthouse provides unprecedented views of Lake Erie from the observation deck.
