Runner at Fredonia Opera House Cinema Series

The Cinema Series continues at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center with screenings of the high energy, action thriller “Runner,” on Sat., Oct.24, and Tues., Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday night screening will be shown with captions visible on the screen.

A former soldier (Reacher’s Alan Ritchson) is thrown into a brutal race against time when a critical medical delivery makes him and his unlikely partner (Owen Wilson) the targets of a ruthless cartel. As the mission spirals into a deadly manhunt, every detour, delay, and bullet pushes them closer to failure. With betrayal closing in from every side, they must survive the chase and deliver their cargo to save the life of a little girl.

Movies Thru the Spectrum calls the film “a propulsive thriller that seldom eases off the gas.” Exclaim! calls it “a high-octane, thoughtful action film with just the right amount of comedy.” TheWrap calls it “the porridge Goldilocks ate, if Goldilocks loved kicking butt and taking names.” Rated PG-13 for strong violence, bloody images, and some language, “Runner” runs one hour, 37 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member.
