Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Festival

Experience one of Chautauqua County’s most energizing summer traditions at the Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Festival. On Saturday, August 8, teams from across the region will take to the water in colorful dragon boats, racing to the beat of their drummers on Chautauqua Lake.

No experience necessary! Teams receive coaching, equipment, and support, making this an ideal event for workplaces, community groups, or friends looking for a memorable summer challenge.

Spectators can enjoy great viewing areas and amenities throughout Lucille Ball Memorial Park, along with local food vendors, crafters, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

The festival also includes a crowd-favorite Drummer Costume Contest and an awards ceremony recognizing top teams. Proceeds support organizations that protect and care for Chautauqua Lake.

Plan to spend the day on the waterfront and take in the excitement, teamwork, and tradition that make dragon boat racing such a captivating sport.

This annual celebration is hosted by the Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, the Chautauqua Lake Association, the Village of Celoron, and others to bring together paddlers, families, and visitors for a full day of friendly competition and lakeside fun.
