Celoron Amusement Park Remembrance Film

Historic Celoron Park was a famous amusement destination located on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in Celoron, NY. There are still many people who have childhood memories of attending the park. Often referred to as the "Coney Island of Western New York", it operated from 1894 until 1962, featuring classic rides, a massive Ferris wheel, a grand ballroom, and vaudeville shows.

Established by the Broadhead family, the park boasted top-tier entertainment, a wooden roller coaster, and a 165-foot Ferris wheel called "The Phoenix". Today, the amusement park is gone, but the site serves as the Lucille Ball Memorial Park to honor the village's most famous resident.

The film is produced by and based on the book by Thomas J. Goodwill. The book was published in 2009 and the film produced in 2024. Mr. Goodwill is the Board President of the Fenton History Center. At this time we are hoping to have him be able to come to the film and add any insights or answer questions from the audience. Even if he cannot attend we will be showing the film.
