    Mount Pleasant State Forest (Chautauqua #3) totals 1,522 acres and is located in the Town of Chautauqua. This forest provides opportunities for many outdoor recreational activities such as hiking and mountain biking. It is also home to a variety of wildlife species such as Whitetail deer, bear, and turkey. Mount Pleasant State Forest's marsh pond is a scenic location for wildlife viewing.

    North Harmony State Forest provides many outdoor recreational opportunities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and hunting and totals 2,561 acres and is located in the southwestern area of Chautauqua County in the Towns of Harmony, North Harmony and Sherman, north of Panama

    Panama State Forest spans 1,224 acres in the town of Harmony. It is a perfect setting for numerous outdoor recreational activities, including hunting, picnicking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and birdwatching and provides habitat to a variety of wildlife species. Hunting is allowed within Panama State Forest, which is part of the 9J Wildlife Management Unit. When hunting, please be sure to abide by all applicable game laws. Access for People with Disabilities There are five access roads off of Goshen Road that make Panama State Forest accessible to hunters with disabilities. Special use permits can be obtaining by contacting the Dunkirk DEC office by phone at (716) 363-2052 . With this permit designated roads can be accessed using motor vehicles. Otherwise these access roads are closed to public traffic.
