Every year the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History offers exciting events and spectacular natural history exhibitions that attract thousands of visitors. The Artwork of Robert Bateman, Backyard Monsters: The World of Insects, and Art and the Animal are just a few of the exhibits that have been featured at RTPI.

Current Exhibit: "The Extinct Birds Project" by artist Alberto Rey

The Extinct Birds Project includes 18 original paintings of extinct birds by Alberto Rey and a companion book by the same name that examines collection practices and causes for extinction. Copies of the book are available in the museum store.
The now extinct Kaua'i 'o'o (Moho braccatus) was endemic to the island of Kaua'i, Haiaii. Its last song was heard in 1987. Learn more about this and 17 other now exitince birds species thourgh Alberto Rey's "Exctinct Birds Project" exhibition now on display at RTPI, as well as the companion book.
