    The Audubon Community Nature Center has more than five miles of beautifully maintained trails with observation towers and handicap accessible overlook. The trails are open free of charge year-round from dawn to dusk for easy hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The 600-acre wetland preserve includes a native tree arboretum and several gardens. The three-story Nature Center building contains the Blue Heron Gift Shop, a collection of live animals including fish, reptiles, and amphibians, plus interactive displays that inform and engage visitors of all ages. One of the most visited exhibits is Liberty, a non-releasable Bald Eagle housed in her outdoor habitat.

    Leolyn Woods is a 10-acre tract of old growth forest on the grounds of the community of Lily Dale. Lily Dale Assembly charges a fee for admission during its summer season but is free and open to the public at other times of year. The woodlot is small but contains some of the most accessible very old, large trees in the region, including eastern white pine standing 135 feet tall. Other species of big trees include northern red oak, eastern hemlock, red maple, sugar maple, cucumber magnolia, and black cherry. Some trees are estimated to range in age from 200 to 400 years.

We encourage you to visit these gardens as well as the lake shore and its many new ecologically sustainable changes that the institution has made to the shoreline landscape. A admission fee/gate pass is required from the end of June until the end of August except on Sundays. Free everyday Sept thru mid-June.
