Embrace the Lake Effect

Western New York's Winter Wonderland

For downhill and cross country snow sports, head to Peek’ Peak Resort and enjoy 27 slopes and trails, state-of-the-art snow making, eight chairlifts, four progressive terrain parks, seven tubing lanes and a renowned ski and snowboard school. Proximity to Lake Erie and lake effect storms mean snow for Chautauqua County, totaling an average 200 inches annually! Cross country skiers and snowshoers will find opportunities at Long Point State Park on Chautauqua Lake, Lake Erie State Park, Boutwell Hill State Forest, Chautauqua Institution and the Audubon Community Nature Center.
